  1.  Cloanto Personal Paint
  2.  
  3.  This  disk contains a Demo version of Personal Paint for the Amiga systems.
  4.  Functionally, the software is identical to the commercial version (it  even
  5.  saves  and prints), except for  a pattern of "DEMO"  text symbols which may
  6.  sometimes be overlaid  to the image.  The remaining files  (pictures, color
  7.  fonts,  data, Amiga  system resources,  etc.) have  in part been reduced or
  8.  changed to fit on a single disk.

  10.  Personal Paint may be launched  with a double-click on its  Workbench icon,
  11.  on  any Amiga with  1 Mbyte of  RAM (ideally, Chip  RAM). In order to fully
  12.  exploit the disk  capacity, Personal Paint  itself has been  compressed. On
  13.  not so fast systems, decompression may slow down the initial loading of the
  14.  program.  A condition of low or fragmented memory may cause the program not
  15.  to be loaded and decompressed correctly.

  17.  The "Pictures" drawer contains  several 256-color images, plus  examples of
  18.  color  reduction, color  merge and  image processing  entirely created with
  19.  Personal Paint. The program automatically  reduces the number of colors  of
  20.  an  image  if  the  computer  on  which  it  is loaded does not have an AGA
  21.  (Advanced  Graphics  Architecture)  chip  set,  or  an  RTG   (Retargetable
  22.  Graphics)  compatible  display  board.  In  case  of  color  reduction, the
  23.  "Settings/Color Remapping/Floyd-Steinberg"  option usually  gives the  best
  24.  results.

  26.  It  is very easy to explore Personal Paint  by choosing from the variety of
  27.  menus and gadgets. It is recommended  to make a backup copy of  the program
  28.  disk before experimenting with functions which write data.
  29.  
  30.  The  gadgets on the tool  bar which is displayed  on the left of the screen
  31.  may respond differently depending on the pointer's position over the gadget
  32.  (upper or lower half), the mouse button which is used (left or right),  and
  33.  the  number of mouse clicks  (cycle gadgets). For example,  the tool to the
  34.  right  of  the  "a"  text  editing  symbol  activates  the image processing
  35.  functions.  If  it  is  selected  with  the right mouse button, a requester
  36.  appears to  select different  image processing  options. The  area on which
  37.  image  processing is to be  applied can be delimited  by dragging the mouse
  38.  (i.e. moving it while the left button is held down).

  40.  The "Settings/Language" options  in this version  of Personal Paint  can be
  41.  used  to  set  the  user  interface  language  to either English, German or
  42.  Italian.
